Juvenile Probation and Social Assistance Service of Pyrgos

The Service

The Juvenile Probation and Social Assistance Service falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice. Its mission is the prevention of juvenile delinquency, the social support of vulnerable individuals, and the implementation of educaional/reformatory measures.

 

The work of the service is divided into two main sectors:

 

  • Juvenile Probation Officers Department: Deals with minors who have committed punishable acts. Probation officers draft social background reports for the court and undertake the supervision, guidance, and monitoring of minors subject to educational/reformatory measures (e.g., institutional placement, intensive supervision) or conditional suspension of sentence.

     

  • Social Assistance Department: Provides support to adults conditionally released from prison or individuals under judicial supervision, contributing to their social reintegration and protection.
